If your finances feel complex, you’re unsure whether you’re making the most of what you have, or you just don’t want the stress of figuring it all out on your own, it might be time to bring in a professional. A good advisor helps simplify the big picture, uncover opportunities, and guide you with a plan that fits both your short- and long-term goals. We’re always happy to have a conversation and see if it makes sense to work together. If it doesn’t, we’ll be the first to tell you.
People often consider switching when they’re not getting enough personal attention, only receiving investment help, or wondering if they’re truly getting their money’s worth. Our clients tell us they value our deeper, more comprehensive approach—and that our fee structure is often more transparent and competitive. If you're curious, we offer a no-pressure call (or two) to explore whether there's a better fit here.
There’s a bit of a lift at the beginning as we get everything set up. That includes signing an agreement, opening or transferring investment accounts, discussing your comfort with risk, and building your financial plan based on your goals. From there, we do a full review each year and check in throughout the year as questions or decisions come up. It’s a true partnership—with us in your corner every step of the way.
In most cases, yes. We manage individual investment accounts through our custodian, Altruist, so those accounts would be transferred or opened there. However, employer-sponsored accounts like 401(k)s or 457(b)s stay where they are. We simply link them to your client portal so you can view everything in one place.
We’re fee-only, which means we’re paid directly by our clients—no commissions or kickbacks, ever. Our fee starts at 1% of the investment accounts we manage on the first $2 million and tiers down as your portfolio grows. It’s billed quarterly and deducted directly from those accounts. We’re fully transparent and believe you should always feel confident about the value you’re receiving.
Not at all. While we specialize in serving those groups because of their unique financial situations, the services we offer are valuable to anyone navigating complex financial decisions—whether you're in a different profession or retired.
We don’t have an account minimum, but we do have a minimum annual fee of $6,000. If your investment portfolio is under $600,000, it could still make sense to work together—especially if your situation is complex and you're looking for in-depth guidance. We’ll help you figure that out during a free introductory call.
Yes—your money is held with a qualified third-party custodian (Altruist), not directly with us, which adds a layer of security. We use top-tier technology and tools to protect your data and assets. While markets can be volatile (and we plan for that), your trust and safety are always a top priority.
No, but we work closely with your CPA to make sure everything is aligned. Our focus is on tax planning—helping you make smart decisions throughout the year to minimize taxes and avoid surprises. We handle the coordination and make sure the strategy shows up correctly in your return, without actually preparing it ourselves.
We stick to the plan. That’s what it’s there for—and why we build it around your long-term goals, not short-term headlines. That said, we’re always available for conversation if you need reassurance or want to understand what’s happening. When markets are down, we also look for tax-loss harvesting and other strategies to turn challenges into opportunities.
